Employment Opportunities at the MFRC

Doing important work that has a positive impact on military families, our staff work hard as part of a good team. Our non-profit organization has been expanding since the 2009 opening of the Lampson MFRC. Casual & On-call Child Care Workers

Start Date: On-going

Hours: Casual – Evenings, Sundays & Weekdays

Job Qualifications: Applicants for this position must be dependable, reliable, be available for some evening/Sunday/daytime shifts, work well independently and as a team player, be friendly, out-going, energetic, and be hard working. Would also be an asset if applicant had some knowledge of military lifestyle and were bilingual.  Child Care experience is strongly recommended.

Job Description: This position is to support our Deployment Child Care Sessions.  Child care is needed while families attend workshop through our deployment support.  Candidates will be working in a child care setting supervising children, planning fun and exciting activities for the children, serve snacks, doing general clean up, and any other related duties as required.

Community Integration and Information Coordinator

The Military Family Resource Centre is seeking a Community Integration and Information Coordinator.  He/she will be responsible for three primary areas: coordination of the 24-hour information and referral service; development, implementation and facilitation of outreach services; and implementation of personal development programs for the community.

The successful candidate must have:

  • A relevant degree and two years related experience 
  • Supervisory and facilitation experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Good knowledge of local community resources
  • Experience in working with families and volunteers
  • Excellent assessment skills
  • Strong team building skills
  • Current BC driver’s license

Bilingualism, computer skills and knowledge of the military lifestyle are an asset. [JOB DESCRIPTION]

Out of School Care Workers

Start Date: September 2010

Hours: Part-time / 5 days/week / 7–9am & 2–5:30pm

Job Qualifications: Applicants for this position must be Considered Responsible Adult in accordance with Community Care Facilities Branch licensing requirements, be dependable, reliable, be available for daytime shifts, work well independently and as a team player, be friendly, out-going, energetic, and be hard working. Would also be an asset if applicant had some knowledge of military lifestyle and were bilingual.
