Back to School Shopping Night
Does the first day of school seem to sneak up on you? Are you prepared? Get back to school shopping done in peace while the MFRC cares for your child. Buy a ticket for our annual Back to School Shopping Event. Your child enjoys dinner, movie, snack and a craft at CPAC - you enjoy shopping alone! Advance tickets only available until August 13. Children's Deployment Workshops
Children’s Deployment Workshops help children adjust to a parent being away on deployment. Workshops offer an opportunity for children to interact with other children who are going through the same experience. These workshops will help validate your child’s feelings about deployment. There are programs for Preschool (age 3-5yrs), School Age (age 6-8yrs) and Preteen (age 9-12yrs). If you are interested in registering your child up for one of the following workshops, call 250-363-2640. Space is limited, please register your child in advance.

Preschool ages 3-5
Tuesdays and Thursdays - June 22–July 20
Follow-On Workshops will be Tuesdays only until deployment is over.

Deployment Dinners
Is your military member away on a Deployment, course, Op Podium, Afghanistan or other work related separation? Is your member deploying in 2010? Come out, enjoy a great dinner and meet others like yourself. Free childminding available. RSVP 5 days before event. This event is for friends and families of military members currently experiencing or soon to experience a deployment. Newcomers are also welcome. Free dinner provided. Deployment Drop-In Coffee Nights
Would you like to meet others dealing with a Deployment? These evenings are provided as a social opportunity for people to connect and share over a cup of java! MFRC Staff will be on hand to provide any requested information. Free Childcare provided if registered in advance. Registration for this program is required for all participants at least 5 days in advance of session dates. Call 250–363–2640 to register.

Drop in Christmas Craft Night
Get into the holiday spirit and get a head start on your Christmas decorating. Join the helpful MFRC staff for an evening of adult and children’s crafts. Register by December 6 by calling the MFRC at 250-363-2640.

Victoria Seals Baseball Game
Have fun with other military friends and families at the old ball game! HMCS ALGONQUIN, HMCS CALGARY, and HMCS PROTECTEUR families are $6 per person. All others are $12 per person. Children 3 and under are free. This event is partially funded by the Unit's Family Network Trust Accounts. Purchase tickets by July 31. Tickets available at all MFRC locations.
