TELUS make generous donation to MFRC

Marshall Berkin, Co-Vice Chair, TELUS Victoria Community Board (far right) with the help of Capt (N) Gilles Couturier, CMOG4 (far left) present the MFRC's Leanne Kopp, Chair of the Board of Directors and Scott Branch, Children Services Coordinator with a $10,000 donation. TELUS' donation will help fund programs and services to benefit military families. The presentation was a part of the TELUS Supports the Troops Rally at the Esquimalt MFRC's Lampson location on a warm July 28th. In addition to the announcement, around 100 military members and their families enjoyed a free barbeque and children’s entertainment. May 1, 2009 Children Services Coordinator Scott Branch acts as master of ceremonies for the National Childcare Symposium for Military Families on May 1 at Harbour Towers in Victoria, B.C. Over 100 people were in attendance, including representatives from 33 MFRCs and a mixture of CF members and spouses. The symposium focused on childcare challenges facing those in the Canadian Forces and creative solutions for these issues.
April 23, 2009 Distinguished volunteers pose with representatives from the MFRC, PSP and CFB Esquimalt at the annual SISSIP Volunteer Recognition Event. Held on April 23, The Honourable Steven L. Point, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, hosted over 200 volunteers staff from both the MFRC and PSP at his residence, Government House. Lampson MFRC officially opens
On March 31, the MFRC officially opened the Lampson MFRC location with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting by Rear Admiral Pile, MFRC Board of Directors Chairperson Leanne Kopp and Base Commander Capt (N) Marcel Halle. The centre houses numerous services for CF members and their families including new daycare spaces, the Navigator Program and the Coordinator of Volunteers.
