Imagination Library
The Imagination Library is a literacy program to help military families build connections through reading together.
Reading regularly with babies and throughout those first five years is crucial to a child's development. By participating in the Imagination Library, you can enhance your child's resiliency to face the challenges of the military lifestyle. There are a lot of great reasons to read with children: an improved quality of life, more success at school and it brings families closer together.
How it works
Each month a child that is a part of the Imagination Library will receive a free, high quality age-appropriate book in the mail from birth to the age of five.
Who can register
Families with babies born from 2012 to 2014 to serving regular force members and class B/C reservists at CFB Esquimalt are eligible to register. Please note that there are registration deadlines each January for babies born in the previous year. A donation from the Homecoming Statue Committee will guarantee that the program will run till 2014.
How to register
Families can register after the baby is born by showing military identification and the baby's health card or birth certificate at any Military Family Resource Centre location.
