Esquimalt MFRC - Programs & services that meet the unique needs of military families

Programs and Services

The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) provides a range of programs and services to address the unique needs of military members and their families. Our mandate covers four main areas:

1. Personal Development and Community Integration

Services include welcome and relocation assistance, a 24-Hour Information Line, second language courses, support to the Francophone community, and community outreach.   

2. Family Separation and Reunion

Services include deployment workshops for adults and children, the staying in touch service, deployment information and support, and family networks.  

3. Prevention, Support and Intervention

Services include short-term intervention and crisis support, support for families with special needs, support during family emergencies, and self help groups.  

4. Child/Youth Development and Parenting Support

Services include a licensed group daycare, emergency child care, preschool, casual child care, activities for children and youth, and parental education and support.
