123 Rhyme with Me


For parents and their babies/toddlers

Have fun with music!  You and your child will listen to a Certified Music Therapist and have a chance to make your own music with a variety of instruments.  Register by January 21. Call 250–363–2640 (toll free 1–800–353–3329).

Parent-Child Mother Goose Program

Mother Goose is an opportunity for Moms, Dads and babies (up to 18 months) to sing songs, learn rhymes and share a snack in this popular, established national program. Register by October 13. Call 250–363–2640 (toll free 1–800–353–3329).

Get Ready for Baby

Your new baby will be here soon—get ready with the MFRC childbirth preparation series! Practice comfort measures for childbirth and learn about breastfeeding and caring for your newborn from our qualified guest speakers. Cost covers entire series for the mother and her partner. If your partner is deployed, the MFRC Pregnancy and Labour Companion volunteers can assist you. Register by April 7. Call 250–363–2640 (toll free 1–800–353–3329).

Group Teen Triple P - Positive Parenting Program

The MFRC is pleased to offer the Triple P Parenting community initiative. It is up to you as a parent to decide which values, skills and behaviours you want to encourage in your child and to develop your own approach to dealing with your child’s behaviour. The Positive Parenting Program provides simple solutions to make parenting easier. Triple P Teen is a six-week course designed for parents dealing with the ups and downs of raising children ages 11 to 15. Please register by April 9. Call 250–363–2640 (toll free 1–800–353–3329).

Infant and Toddler CPR and Safety

What will you do in an emergency? Learn about safety, first response and CPR from a qualified CPR instructor and a registered nurse. Kids Have Stress Too!

Kids Have Stress Too! ™ is an amazing program created by the Psychology Foundation of Canada to help parents and caregivers learn kid-friendly strategies for managing stress. Raise your arms for the “Cloud Push” and stretch your imagination to ask “What if…” as you join in on this interactive workshop. Please register by February 1. Parent Education and Support Committee

Parent Support Circle for Military Families

This free and confidential group gives parents from military families the opportunity to share feelings, concerns, ideas and resources. The support circle is a place where parents can receive support regarding their role as parents and an understanding of how to manage the challenges that come with parenting in the military lifestyle.Parent Support Services of British Columbia

This support circle is done in partnership with the Parent Support Services Society of British Columbia.

Please note that this is not a drop-in group. Please contact 250-363-2640 to see if the support circle is right for you. Childcare is available at no cost to parents.

Pregnancy and Labour Companion Program

Will your partner be deployed during your pregnancy? Skilled, caring volunteers will support you during pregnancy, childbirth, and after you’ve welcomed your baby home. Find out more about how the MFRC supports expecting parents by calling 250–363–2640.

Rainbows Program

Rainbows is a peer support program for children who have suffered a significant loss in their life by death, divorce, separation or any other painful transitions such as moving or long deployments. We’ll celebrate your child’s participation with a “Celebrate Me” event on March 29. Please note that parents must attend an orientation session. Cost of $10 covers nutritional breaks. Triple P - One on One Positive Parenting Consultation
