Families with Special Needs
MFRCs within Canada and abroad work to support Canadian Forces families. We offer community based programming, and we are responsive to the needs of our families. Within our communities, there are families with special needs and responsibilities that care for children with special needs, have a partner with health concerns, help support aging parents and want to support a CF member with an operational injury.

Caregiving from a Distance
Caring for a family member from afar can pose a variety of challenges. When caregivers do not live close enough to provide care directly, they may offer support by setting up onsite services, identifying local organizations to provide case management, and finding a local point of contact to co-ordinate services. Come join us to explore the complexities associated with caregiving from a distance. Identify elements you can control. Acknowledge the physical, psychological and financial stress that may accompany your caregiving experience. Create a personal plan of action and a family plan to identify your role as a caregiver. Register by calling 250-363-2640 (toll free: 1-800-353-3329).
